About WordPebble

WordPebble is an independent word puzzle made by a solo developer.

It started from one feeling: the small, quiet satisfaction of placing the last letter and watching a word click into place. Everything else follows from that. There are no timers, no lives and no rush. The boards start tiny, every word has a clue, and if you find a different real word that fits, it counts.

What's in the game

  • 1,000 puzzles that grow from 3×3 to 8×8, then endless randomly generated boards.
  • A hand-written clue for every answer word.
  • A word list of 79,494 words of 3 to 8 letters, so your own valid answers are recognised.
  • Hints, undo, reset, a guided tutorial, soft music, and keyboard and reduced-motion support.

WordPebble runs in your browser. It's free to play and doesn't need an account; your progress is saved on your own device.
